We are an empowerment company and therefore pay all our crafters for their work produced, regardless of whether it leads to an order. Thus we charge a basic sample development cost that provides “compensation” to the crafter – only if the order falls away. This fee is quoted according to the size and complexity of the product. Should the order subsequently go ahead, this sample development cost shall be waived.
Wholesale and Retail Prices
Our wholesale prices quoted are applicable to retailers, agents and for members of the public with orders of R1000 or more. Please request our Wholesale Pricelist.
Retail prices are available upon request.
Prices for large and /or customized orders are subject to negotiation.
Placing and Securing an Order
When placing an order, please ensure you use our codes provided and supply all the necessary details; quantity, colour, size, ,shape and timing. The more specific your order – the easier it will be to fulfill your request.
We will only commence production of an order, following the payment of a 50% non refundable deposit. This will be used to cover any losses African Home sustains, should an order be cancelled. If a time constraint prohibits this deposit, a signed and scanned document by both parties, may serve as surety.
Please note that our African Home secure payment gateway is available. Electronic Bank Transfers (EFT) are also permissible.
Cancellations of orders and quantity changes are permissible up until the 50% deposit has been paid. Thereafter, increased quantities are only possible if it is within our capacity. We cannot accommodate reduced quantities at this point, since the materials would already have been purchased and production would already be well underway.
Our Production Processes
An approximate production lead time as well as a delivery date will be supplied for each order. Completed orders may only be delivered or collected upon full payment of the order. (Proof of payment is required).
All packaging & shipping costs will be due and payable by the client. Shipping quotations will be supplied for our client’s approval prior to the execution of an order.
Prices are subject to change, therefore a Proforma Invoice with current prices will be sent for approval before commencement of order.
Quality Control
We endeavor to ensure that only crafts of a professional standard will be acceptable and pass through our Quality Control system. However, if the product quality differs grossly from the original sample or website image (i.e. disfigurement, extreme mistakes in colour, and size) please contact us directly on [email protected] with your queries and we will arrange to replace it as soon as possible.
Please remember that all our products are hand crafted and therefore products will vary slightly. This indicates its authenticity as it was made by a human being rather than a machine who mass produced the product.
Return Policy/Damaged/Lost Item:
Lost or stolen packages
We are able to insure our customers ‘ parcels for loss only. If a package is lost or stolen during transit, we will contact our Insurance Company to pay out accordingly.
Only after our Insurance Company has paid us out for the lost/stolen item(s) can we then resend the new item. We package all our items with care, use reliable freight carriers, but once an item leaves African Home, risk of loss passes from African Home to the freight agents/carriers.
Damaged Packages
Unfortunately, African Home is not able to insure packages to cover damage/breakage during freight.
When a package leaves African Home, it has been carefully checked and packaged ,and subsequent damage passes to the carrier.
