The majority of African Home craftspeople are men and women refugees from Zimbabwe and local people who live in various townships of Cape Town.
African Home has achieved six of the seven B-BBEE elements:

- Socio-Economic Development
In addition to these, African Home assists where possible in offering interest-free loans to employees with housing and educational needs, and we provide access to a doctor for employees with chronic illness or emergency injuries. We have assisted employees in finding schools for their children, and also assist wherever possible with support documents for asylum seekers.
